Organic Cotton vs Conventional Cotton
Organic cotton is grown without synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or genetically modified seed. It relies more on rainwater and crop rotation, and studies estimate it uses far less irrigation water than conventional cotton. Organic cotton is usually certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), which also covers how the fabric is processed.
Earth Totes uses GOTS-certified organic cotton for its reusable mesh shopping bags, which replace single-use plastic bags. Organic cotton costs more to grow because yields are lower, but both organic and conventional cotton bags avoid plastic. See the mesh totes.
Our Earth Totes eco string mesh net bags are totally unique and an updated version of the original string bags.
